Services offered

We create innovative ways to achieve Learning Outcomes for organisations, teams and individual leaders.  We help senior leaders expand and refresh their repertoire of leadership practise.

Some of the ways we do this include:

  • One-to-one executive coaching of CEs and senior leaders
  • Design of senior team and individual development plans
  • Real-time observation of leaders in their teams on-the-job
  • Team coaching and training in 21st Century Leadership Skills
  • Career development of senior leaders – exploring options for their future
  • Creation of Learning Journeys[1] sometimes from one senior team to another
  • Delivery of Leadership Programmes for specialists, thought and policy leaders
  • Facilitation of Peer Learning Groups for leaders’ learning

Sectors worked in  Public sector – over 20 years’ experience delivering leadership development across government –  Sectors include social, health, education, science, justice, central agencies and SOEs.

Private sector – including IT, engineering, finance, telcos and health.

Currently delivering Continuous Professional Development called ‘Leadership Essentials’ for the NZ Institute of Accountants members – ranging from ‘Creating Culture’, ‘Accelerating Teams’, ‘Leadership’ to ‘Self Management  – Work Life Balance’.

Leadership Development Experience

  • CE and senior team development – often before or after reviews   - facilitation of courageous conversations around the table.  Creating innovative ways to tackle the tough issues.
  • Over 20 years of research and delivery of Change – Leadership and Management Programmes aligned to organisational and individual learning development needs.
  • Real time observation of hundreds of Leaders in-action to build their confidence, give them feedback and raise their skills levels – on-the-job.
  • Facilitation of public and private sector Peer Learning Groups[2] including ones for the Leadership Development Centre. We helped to launch learning groups for mid-career scientists – called the Oxygen Groups, for the previous Ministry of Research Science & Technology.
  • Creation of Learning Journeys for senior teams to enhance their leadership practise.
  • Jane McCann was a member of the Health Services Management Development Unit (HSMDU) – delivering an integrated suite of leadership programmes for the NZ Health Sector during the 1990s.


[1] Learning Journeys are based on Adam Kahane’s Change Labs and involve deep reflection, asking powerful questions and getting out from behind desks to learn from others.
